A small tornado touched down on the Hines' property in northeastern Vernon County Wednesday evening -- twice, tearing into the Hines' wheat field and damaging some trees and headstones at a nearby cemetery. This is where my sister stopped her car and got out to watch the tornado. Probably the same swirling, boiling cloud my daughter and I watched from our house also. But at that time it was just starting to form.
