New momma Silkie is settling in with her adopted babies

I've been missing having Silkie chickens out on the homestead so when a lady advertised 3 hens and 1 rooster for sale I drove out to the country to take them.  I was excited when I got there to find that there was some eggs and a little chick to go with the group.  Woohoo!  Silkie's are great mommas and love raising babies so I went to my local Producer's Grain store and bought 4 Arracauna babies for her to raise.  These are the chickens that lay colored eggs.  At first I put them in the pen with the other Silkies but immediately one of the other hens started pecking at the babies.  So,  I separated the one with the "momma instincts"  with her baby and put them and the other 4 chicks in a pet carrier and brought them into the house for the night for some "bonding" time.  This morning when I went to get them all 5 of the babies had been taken "into the fold"  and momma seems to love them as her own.  Reminds me of how God takes us into his fold and adopts us as one of His own when we accept Jesus as our Saviour.

Life is back to normal here on the homestead now that baby chicks have been added.   Now if that Silkie rooster will try to get along with John Wayne my Buff Orpington life will be good.
